Fleet Overview

Aklak Air maintains a fleet of aircraft that meets the service requirements of our customers, both scheduled and charter flight users. Our on-site fleet includes a combination of three different aircraft, each selected to enable flexible and timely responses to a wide variety of contractual uses and in support of regular seasonal demands. Our fleet is versatile and particularly suited to safe, secure and efficient delivery of our major services as the aircraft:

• Are very reliable
• Are all twin engine, turbo prop equipped with most sophisticated instruments available
• Are capable of taking off or landing in short distances
• Are maintained to the highest Transport Canada standards
• Allow for a varied mix of passenger/cargo loads for optimum use of capacity
• Are adaptable to almost any terrain, providing ease of conversion to a variety of configurations (passenger/cargo, wheels, skis, tundra tires)

All aircraft are operated by dual flight crews who are:

• Trained in cockpit management
• Department of Transport Instrument Flight Rating certified
• Adhering to a rigorous in house safety program

Depending on the type of demand, our strategic partnership with Kenn Borek Air Ltd. allows us quick access to aircraft types that best meet our customers’ needs, including one of the world’s largest fleets of Twin Otters.
